Building A Stronger Rural Minnesota

The economic benefits of a 40-million gallon ethanol plant (the Heron Lake facility will be a 50 million gallon plant) are significant:

  • 32 new jobs with an annual payroll over $1.7 million - good paying jobs in an area that needs them.
  • An increase in corn value of 5 cents per bushel - a $6.5 million impact on the
income of area corn producers that will be felt throughout the economy.
  • Expansion of the economic base by $110 million, helping sustain local business and support local schools and services.
  • An average increase in state and local tax receipts of $1.2 million annually.
