Building A Stronger Rural Minnesota
The economic benefits of a 40-million gallon ethanol plant
(the Heron Lake facility will be a 50 million gallon plant) are significant:
- 32 new jobs with an annual payroll over $1.7 million - good paying
jobs in an area that needs them.
- An increase in corn value of 5 cents per bushel - a $6.5 million impact
on the
income of area corn producers that will be felt throughout the economy.
- Expansion of the economic base by $110 million, helping sustain local
business and support local schools and services.
- An average increase in state and local tax receipts of $1.2 million
annually.
